Project Overview
Twenty Ninth Street Mall - Boulder, Colorado
Twenty Ninth Street Mall is a major retail center redevelopment project in Boulder, Colorado. The project includes the demolition of the existing enclosed mall and the development of over 500,000 square feet of new retail and entertainment space.A few of the developmentās objectives are to reduce the effects of urban heat islands by placing at least 50% of the parking underground, divert at least 50% of construction and demolition debris from the landfill, and use environmental preferable products where permissible.
RMI/ENSAR Role
RMI/ENSAR was hired as sustainable design consultants to incorporate sustainable design principles throughout the site plan and the core & shell building design. RMI/ENSAR advised on energy optimization, daylighting performance, material specification and LEED green building program issues.Results
Twenty Ninth Street utilized the LEED Core & Shell green building program as a framework for designing the retail center.
